TAX TIPS - FILING YOUR INCOME
TAX
We recommend filing
your income tax return on time to avoid late-filing penalties.
Filing on time will ensure you receive your goods and services
tax/harmonized sales tax (GST/HST) credit, the Canada Child Tax
Benefit, and related provincial and territorial entitlements.
The deadline for filing
personal income tax and paying any taxes owing is April 30th.
Late-filing penalties and interest on amounts owing will apply
beginning May 1st. Self-employed
individuals and their spouses or common-law partners have until
midnight of June 15th to file their income tax returns. However,
any tax owing has to be paid by April 30. The
Canada
Customs and Revenue Agency offer the most complete online
version of various forms, publications and instructions for filing
your income tax returns.
T.I.P.S.
Online offers you two types of tax information:
- Personal Tax Information
- General Tax Information
Your corporate income tax forms
